Firehouse Apartments located in Hill District
This award-winning project called for the adaptive re-use of a 19th century Firehouse Station in Pittsburgh’s Hill District. The existing Romanesque-Style building was reconfigured in the comprehensive renovation to provide (5) low to moderate income apartments for female head-of – household families.

Financing was through HUD and private sources and incorporated all applicable building and site codes, including handicap accessibility.
The project introduced other new systems to the building including; electrical upgrades, HVAC, sprinklers, and new plumbing. These were successfully incorporated without compromising the original character of the building.
