Graves Design Group offers more than 30 years of experience in architectural historic restoration. Firm president, Howard Graves, is our in-house expert in this highly specialized field of architecture. His experience includes the estimated $90 million (2009 dollars) project to renovate approximately 40% of the historic home structures within Pittsburgh’s Manchester neighborhood. Manchester, a nationally recognized historic district, contains several homes designed in the Italian Renaissance Style, Second Empire Style, Italianate, Victorian Romanesque styles and others.

Work included a house-to-house survey of homes slated for major interior and exterior renovations. In addition to the historic preservation of these fine homes, the project required environmental impact studies, new infrastructure, street vacating, land use planning, coordination with public agencies, highway impact, and acquisition.
